Medals 4 help Translate the following phrase into an algebraic expression: Three times the sum of a and c 3a + c a + 3c 3(a + c) 3a + 3c

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

3(a+c)=3a+3c

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

So both c and d are correct...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is the third one, because it's 3 times the sum of a and c, where first you add a and c, then multiply it by 3, OR, you can multiply 3 by a, then 3 by c, then add the answers. So, it's C and D.
