If f(x) = 2x, then f -1(x) =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are looking for the inverse of f(x)=2x correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make f(x) =y. So you have y=2x. Now swap the x and the y. What do you have?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf f(x)={\color{blue}{ y}} = 2{\color{brown}{ x}}\qquad inverse\implies {\color{brown}{ x}}= 2{\color{blue}{ y}}\impliedby f^{-1}\) as pointed out

Idk...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=2x.... To do the inverse you make f(x) =y so you have y = 2x..now swap the x and the y...and you have x= 2y. Now all you have to do is solve for y.
