simplify the radical expression √75 + √3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6√3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did the 5 become a 6 because you added the 3+3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

radical75+radical3 radical25* radical3+ radical3 5 radical3+radical 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that's wrong radical 75 can be simplified to radical 25 and radical 3. That can be simplified to 5 radical 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what happens to the second radical 3 then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

√75 would simplify to 5√3 and √3 would stay as it is. Imagine there is a 1 in front of the √3. Add 5 +1 to get 6 and then you will keep the radical 3 giving you the answer 6√3.
