Help Please, I'm not sure which it is what is the graph for y=3x-2

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

this is A and B

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

This is C and D

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

@surjithayer

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

@agent0smith @rockstar0765 @SydtheKid913

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

can someone please help me, this is important i have no idea how to do these, i don't want answers just an explanations or somehting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

@Cody17 do you know anything about this ? :(

Nnesha (nnesha):

sure let me see first

Nnesha (nnesha):

for first one is very easy let me tell which line of graph increasing ??

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

the graph increases in bot hanswer choices A & D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u need a graphing calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have*

Nnesha (nnesha):

you have positive slope so your line should be increasing

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

yes I do, now that i think about it will it make the graph for me? (ive never used a graphing calculator b4 so i dnt know how to use it hah) @Cody17 @Nnesha ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have to hit the top right Y=

Nnesha (nnesha):

B and C ignore them because slope is increasing so we don't need decreasing line we need increasing

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

ok i figured that part out @Nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

ok so what is your y-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation is y=3x-2 so the line should cut the y-axis at -2. & to find out where it cuts the x-axis make 'y' zero, therefore x=2/3 which is 1.5 so now you just look for the line that cuts y-axis at -2 and x-axis at 1.5

Nnesha (nnesha):

y =mx + b is the slope y-intercept form equation where m is slope and b is y-intercept so what is b stand in your equation

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

Wow thanks everyone this is all EXTREMELY helpful!!!!!!!!! @Cody17 i forgot all about my calculator lol i figured out the graphing calculator lol @Nnesha thnk you for your step-by step walk through !! @Renato thank you for your explanation it was very detailed!!!

Nnesha (nnesha):

so whats you answer its my pleasure :)

OpenStudy (sydthekid913):

Hi @Bookworm14 sorry I didn't respond sooner I think it is A

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

I chose A @Nnesha I agree 100% @SydtheKid913 sry i never went to your question im in the middle of a timed test, my time is running out lol
