Help! 2 equations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.) 3(x-7)-x=2x-21 7 ; -2 ; infinitely many solutions ; no solution 2.) 4+2y=9+2y 4 ; -4 ; infinitely many solutions ; no solution

OpenStudy (shinalcantara):

for #1.. simplifying the equation you'll have 3(x-7)-x=2x-21 3x - 21 - x = 2x - 21 2x - 21 = 2x - 21 notice that both sides of the equation are equal. remember when they are equal, whatever value of x you substitute in the equation will be true.. therefore it has infinite solutions #2. 4+2y=9+2y simplifying you'll have 4+2y=9+2y 2y - 2y = 9-4 0 is not equal to 5 since the equation did not acquire a true mathematical expression at the end then there are no solution to this
