Question to do with intensity and amplitude.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is "amplitude = max amplitude divided by sqrt 2" The actual position, of course, does not matter. but I am having difficulty getting from I = A^2 to the answer

If you are saying this: \[Amplitude = \frac{Amp_{\max}}{\sqrt{2}}\] Then that Amplitude is nothing but RMS value of Signal..

What is \(Fig \; \; 5.2\) ?? What is in it??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fig 5.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The figure is irrelevant as the position is relative. What I am struggling with is how to algebraically get to the correct answer from \[I = A ^{2}\]
