Fun challenge questions for theists. [Open to all.] 1. Consistently apologists and theologians twist the meaning of their holy text to make it comply with science. If God does exist, why is it such that goes was not clear in meaning? Surely showing that the interpretation must be changed when met with science makes the holy text, unholy or man-made? 2. If religious extremists are not representative of their religion, why do they often cite their religious text to support their actions? 3. If God exists, what is the explanation for the chaos, and uncertainty within our world? I all ready have my answers to these questions, but am interesting in everyone else.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

short answers: 1. I BELIEVE we cant begin to understand the amazingness that is God and his plans 2. I BELIEVE that everyone feels the need to justify their actions especially when they arent agreed with 3. humans are sinful, we do it to ourselves i'd write more but i have to finish a lab

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

I desire elaboration from questions 1 and 3, respectively. By "comply with science", what do you consider science; what specific examples are you referring to? What do you mean by (and I assume you mean) "chaos" and "uncertainty"; mind giving examples?

OpenStudy (opcode):

@JonnyVonny I hope my answers are enough to quell your desires. :-) 1. If your religion contradicted with science, but now does not through a different interpretation. 2. If God matter so much why is there so much uncertainty that he exist? If God truly exists why are there a multitude of religions claim to be the correct one?

Elaz, if you need a clarification just ask. :-)

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

1) You say, "Consistently apologists and theologians twist the meaning of their holy text to make it comply with science", but this is not the case for true believers for the Judea-Christian bible. Unless you can give examples, I fail to see what you're referring to. 2) The extremists that I can think about for the Judea-Christian bible, are those whom march in groups, having signs that read, "God hates owlets". They are representing a biblical topic in a very unbiblical fashion by the ways of: the actual message they have on the sign, and the approach they are taking to represent the message. But, as for any belief with extremists, they often misquote their belief source. 3) Your original question and your response to my question have two different answers, for they have two different meanings (but that its called elaboration, I know). I'll answer the latter; what you replied to me: The way I see it, is that, not that there exists excessive uncertainty, (insomuch that its near impossible to know the truth) but rather, people don't care to know the Truth. There are a lot of belief-systems out there due to the fact that Satan tries very hard to deceive people, however, it is futile when someone tries to look for the Truth.
