can someone please explain this question to me?!?! fan and medal!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the limit to exist, we must have \[\lim_{x \rightarrow a^-}f(x)=\lim_{x \rightarrow a^+}f(x)=f(a)\] so look at your graph... where are the trouble spots in -2 < x < 5 (that's what it means by open interval. if it was a closed interval, it would be -2 \(\le\) x \(\le\) 5)

confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean trouble spots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at x = -1... what's the limit from the left?

hello?
