Write an inequality for this problem: A truck driver is offered a choice of two types of contracts. The first option is to receive $35,000 a year. The second option is to receive $10,000 a year plus 25 cents for each mile that he drives. How many miles would he have to drive for the second option to be the better of the two contracts? Thanks c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the difference in pay is $25,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many quarters are in a dollar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i misread, sorry, you need an inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

35,000=10,000+(25,000*X)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or replace the equal sign with a less than sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[35000<10,000+(.25x)\]

OpenStudy (butterflyhope):

Thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think thats right, lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so he'd have to drive over 100k miles a year
