OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
well what's the problem here
you just read the graph
where does the graph increase ?
OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
so can you tell me where the graph decrease?
Do you know what the graph does when it is decreasing or increasing
taking Calculus you need to have the skill already to read graphs
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i thought it was 5, infinty
OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
you mean the interval of increasing?
No! Observe that the graph was coming down from 3 to 6 and then take a sharp turn to increase again

so then i understand it correct
a. 4 to 5 where f increasing
b. -3 to 2 ----- f decreasing
hope this will help you
OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
f is increasing in [4.5] however the interval is not open
for b (-3, 2) is correct the function is decreasing and the interval is open
OpenStudy (anonymous):
actually it is not 4,5 i already put that one and it is wrong, that is what was throwing me off
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-3,2 is correct though

@midhun.madhu1987 can u help?
OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
i didn't say that's correct
I said what johny said is wrong
OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):
see where the function is increasing in an open interval

OpenStudy (anonymous):
i still think its from 4,5 i don't see another bigger increase
OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
