OpenStudy (ria23):

Write an inequality for the graph shown below.

OpenStudy (ria23):

OpenStudy (ria23):

\[y<1/2x+1\] ?

OpenStudy (ria23):

@johnweldon1993 would yhu mind checking my answer. . .

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes its shaded below so < right dotted line < yes right 1 is y-intercept yes right

OpenStudy (ria23):

Thank yhu! c:

Nnesha (nnesha):

but slope is disturb me

OpenStudy (ria23):

I got my slope wrong?

OpenStudy (ria23):

I kinda just guessed the best as I could from what I see... >.<

Nnesha (nnesha):

because when we go down so its not cross the line see in this pic

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I think you have some points you can use.... (0,1) and (-2,-1) slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) slope = (-1 - 0) / (-2 - 0) slope = -1/-2 slope = 1/2 (0,1) y = mx + b 1 = 1/2(0) + b 1 = b equation is : y = 1/2x + 1 thats what I am getting

OpenStudy (ria23):

;o so my inequality was right?

Nnesha (nnesha):

well line is not on -2 exactly

Nnesha (nnesha):

it can be 1/1 i --------> y=x +1

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Mine is wrong....I made a mistake...do not go by mine....I set up the slope wrong...and NNesha might be right, the point is not exactly on -2...it is close

Nnesha (nnesha):

i think its close to 1 its seem like to me well ria do you have answer choices

OpenStudy (ria23):

No, it's just a fill in the blank...

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

does (-3,-1) look like a point on the line to you NNesha ??

OpenStudy (ria23):

Not really a blank... More like "provide yhur own answer"

OpenStudy (ria23):

The slope is positive right?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yeha its do but we have to look up side to because its increasing its

Nnesha (nnesha):

but upside doesn't work

OpenStudy (ria23):

Pssst... @zepdrix Do yhu think yhu could help us? I think were stuck... ;n;

zepdrix (zepdrix):

whut? :U

OpenStudy (ria23):

I need to know if my inequality for the graph is right~ Were not sure if my slope is right...

zepdrix (zepdrix):

The graph passes through: (-1.5,0) and (0,1) I would use those points to find your slope c: I think it works out to 2/3?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 it does :)

OpenStudy (ria23):

>O<; Thank yhu so much~

zepdrix (zepdrix):

yay team \c:/

OpenStudy (ria23):

Nnesha, could yhu medal Z for me? ;o I don't want to take my medal I gave yhu away...

Nnesha (nnesha):

yeah sure :) :) :)

OpenStudy (ria23):

Arigato! ^o^
