quick question !! medal

OpenStudy (freckles):

Maybe try to solve (2x+5)^2>(x+2)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im trying to solve this with the critical point value method

OpenStudy (freckles):

I'm not exactly sure how they method goes... But I assume you can find "critical points" by solving both 2x+5=x+2 and 2x+5=-(x+2)

OpenStudy (freckles):

Then test the intervals around those numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i test it, i get real numbers...is that right?

OpenStudy (freckles):

You are testing which is greater the |2x+5| or the |x+2|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure if im testing it right

OpenStudy (freckles):

First find your "critical values"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-3 and x=-7/3

OpenStudy (freckles):

ok draw a number line with those numbers on it |dw:1413329740159:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, i did that

OpenStudy (freckles):

|dw:1413329752437:dw|
