Some prob stuff P(A) U P(B) = P(A) +P(B) - P(AnB) P(A) U P(B) U P(C) = P(A) +P(B) + P(C) -P(AnB)-P(BnC)-P(AnC) + P(AnBnC) =P(A) +P(B) + P(C) -1(sum 2 intsction terms) + (sum 3 insec) --------------------------- What about for 4, how to generalize

OpenStudy (dan815):

i think im seeing some inclusion and exclusion by assuming its in increments of 1

OpenStudy (dan815):

or wait maybe not? what do u think

OpenStudy (dan815):

@ganeshie8 @Kainui

OpenStudy (kainui):

Oh apparently the message thingy is broken for me too lol. Then again, what else is new here haha

OpenStudy (dan815):

oh i see shiet ok ok i mistake im messed up inclusion

OpenStudy (kainui):

I think this is most obvious to look at a venn diagram. |dw:1413334546903:dw| See how the P(A) and P(B) intersect? (WOW I just realized why they call it the intersection lol) So now you can see that if you add up the circle of A and the circle of B they overlap and count the same area twice so you have to subtract off the part they counted twice. Now add a third circle and see what you need to get rid of!

OpenStudy (dan815):

right
