solve 4x+7=2x-5

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

@anam123 I have explained it to you. Try it on your own now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtract 7 from both sides to get \[4x=2x-12 \] then subtract 2x from both sides to get: \[2x=-12 \] now divide both sides by two to get -6

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

If you mess up. Show us all your steps and we can help you from there.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Put all variables to one side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be -2x, not positive. So it would 6. Sorry

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Open Study is not a place where you can just post your question to get a answer so that you can get your H.W or test out of the way. open study is for you to learn.
