ok we have an equation. this means that the stuff on the left side is equal to the stuff on the right. like 1=1 or 2=2 or 4=2+2. so that means we can manipulate one side of the equation as we see fit as long as we do the same to the other side. with that in mind, look at the equation. what you want is to find y, by find we mean isolate y. now how do we get y alone on one side? we can add and subtract values or divide and multiply them. now look at what you have. how can we get the y values on one side and the plain numbers on the other?
