Can you multiply factors with decimals? How do you know where to put your decimal point in your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you give an example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um ok let me see what i can use

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you play pixelgun? @*Shadow*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nah, why? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz your pic :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i play it sometimes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ex: like when your multiplying decimals and you have to move the decimal to the right or left...? i think i said that right ? :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@*Shadow* does this example make sense ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A bit.. Enough to come up with an Answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you for your help! :)) <-(double chin smile)lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait.. so like where the decimal point goes after you figured out the answer or while you're multiplying/dividing?

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

Multiply normally, ignoring the decimal points. Then put the decimal point in the answer - it will have as many decimal places as the two original numbers combined. If that makes sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well basically my teacher wants me to explain what to do in this type of equation ... did this make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it does thanks @animal_lover36

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

Yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for trying @*shadow*
