What do you think about the ethical aspects of cloning?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@BioEpic @matt101 @Frostbite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like gene cloning or like full organism cloning?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An individual produced by asexual reproduction is a clone, an organism that is genetically identical to its parent. This is different from sexual reproduction. In sexual reproduction, both parents contribute genetic material so the offspring have traits of both parents, but do not look exactly like either parent. Asexual reproduction creates clones. The hydra pictured is in the process of reproducing asexually. The smaller hydra budding from the parent is genetically identical to the parent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the case in which the cloning is performed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry...I don't know :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it were to replace a dying loved one i would say it is ethical,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well its different between asexual reproduction and actual cloning in a lab. one is in vivo and the other is synthesized. In the lab, we use PCR cloning for things like crime scenes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i guess it depends on the context of what the cloning is used for

Thanks
