With regard to angular momentum, is the orbit of the sun around the galaxy considered to be angular momentum?

OpenStudy (theeric):

Sort of! :) The sun \(\it has\) angular momentum because it's in that orbit! http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/amom.html

An angular momentum can be calculated for a moving object with respect to any arbitrary point. It is relative. Angular moment is the product of the momentum and the distance of closest approach to the point. It doesn't even have to be an orbit.
