OpenStudy (anonymous):

plants lack centrioles but they do form spindalefibers

OpenStudy (matt101):

Yes - they still have spindle fibers. They are built from a microtubule organizing centre (MTOC) that sort of resembles a centriole but isn't one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the reasons of this/.

OpenStudy (matt101):

I'm not a plant biologist so I can't say for sure, but I've done a quick internet search and it seems to have to do with evolution and is related to the shape of the plant cell and the fact that it has a cell wall, in contrast to animal cells.
