HELP PLEASE, I BEG U!!! Im going to get in trouble..
Jackson purchased a pack of game cards that was on sale for 22% off. The sales tax in his county is 6%. Let y represent the original price of the cards. Write an expression that can be used to determine the final cost of the cards.
pwease halp
what is your own attempt?
I have no freakin Idea wut 2 do..
well, if something is going to be reduced from its original price ... id suggest starting with the original price
I guess so
if we take the original y amount, but only want .22 less of it, then we keep .78 of it .78y is going to be the price that we take to the register
now we want to add to it the sales tax, which is just an extra 6%
any thoughts about how to express that?
Hmmm, I see
Not rlly
Im so lost..
So what IS the final cost of cards?
well, if 75% of y is equal to: .75y the 6% of .75y is equal to: .06(.75y) and this is added to what the sales price is soo .75y + .06(.75y) is the final price we pay
O_O I still kinda don't get it but, AWESOME!
Thanks!
