Will FAN AND MEDAL! Which equations represent the line @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok for this problem you have to have y by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, what is next

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope and b is the y intercept (where the line begins)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m=slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, so what is the answer? :) Usually when I have the answer I can see how to do it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im going to explain how to work it out first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its says that the slope of the line is 9/4.......and i told u in the equation y=mx+b m=slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all you do is replace the m with 9/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y=9/4x + b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, but there are multiple answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would one of them be C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now its saying that the y intercept is -14 and the y intercept is b in the y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 1 of the answers would be C.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not D because the 14 is negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So C.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are the other correct answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so we have a and b left they have to be in the form y=mx+b since there are other terms with the y we are going to have to get the y by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, why can't they be in other forms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well it makes it easier to solve that way when u get y by its self it will be y=9/4-14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answers will be exactly the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is A & B or just 1 of them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you want me to explain it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a is -9x+4y=-56 so add 9x to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So is the other answer A.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, they are the only 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, I have a few more.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
