Express y in terms of x Quite hard for me...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I currently have from a differiential equation: \[\frac{ y-1 }{ y+1 }=\frac{ x^2 }{ 4 }\] and have to express it as y = ? I have tried cross multiplying the fractions and simplifying but I have no idea at all

OpenStudy (aum):

\[ \frac{ y-1 }{ y+1 }=\frac{ x^2 }{ 4 } \\ 4y - 4 = x^2y + x^2 \\ 4y - x^2y = x^2 + 4 \\ y(4 - x^2) = x^2 + 4 \\ y = \frac{4+x^2}{4-x^2} \\ \]

Ah thank you. I just got stuck on factorising it on the second to last line!
