North: The north had a mostly positive effect. Their transportation system was working beautifully, the economy was doing very well, but it started getting over populated. Immigrants were funneling in causing an over population in the north. Some people were left living in the streets for long periods of time. There was also the fact that people started to protest for a better working conditions. South: The economy was wreckt. The civil war had left the south absolutely battered. Also, the south was having problems getting over the fact that all men were created equal. The white folk didn't want to accept the fact that everyone was the same. Also the population had shrunk drastically. You don't want to be in the south at this time. It was a mess. West: The west was going along swimmingly! The transcontinental railroad was working wonderfully life was good! The only problem with them was chineese immigrants offered to work for cheap leaving them with a loss of jobs. Midwest: Basically the same as the north. Good economy but a lot of people were moving here. In my opinion I would live in the Midwest. The city's were growing, and the economy was booming,
