MEDAL & FAN ANYBODY ? A triangle with vertices at (1, 2), (–1, –6) and (7, –2) is translated five units to the left and 7 units upward. The coordinates of the translated triangle are: a. (6, 9), (4, 1) and (12, 5) b. (–4, –5), (–6, –13) and (2, –9) c. (6, –5), (4, –13) and (12, –9) d. (–4, 9), (–6, 1) and (2, 5)

Take a guess. Which one do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think a @ohlookidontunderstandanotherthing

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

five units to the left = subtract 5 from first (x) coordinate 7 up means add 7 to y coordinate

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

so what does (1,2) translate to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your answer will actually be, If I am correct, D. If you take all your coordinates and subtract 5 from X and add 7 you'll get your answer. So for the first coordinate it would be \[\frac{ 1-5 }{ 2+7 }\]

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

(1 -5 , 2 + 7) = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cwrw238 is it D ?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

that' s weird - my last 2 posts swopped around!!??

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

thats right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-4,9)

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cwrw238 mines did too .

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

D is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cwrw238 so its D ?
