OpenStudy (hannaha):

So I need some help with GCF (greatest common factor), anybody? Please please please help!!😞

OpenStudy (amistre64):

take the union of thier prime factorizations

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the GCF of 15 and 18 15 = 3 5 18 = 2 3 3 ------------ GCF: 2 3 3 5

OpenStudy (amistre64):

did i confuse that with LCM?

OpenStudy (hannaha):

Like factor trees?

OpenStudy (hannaha):

Umm no I don't think so

OpenStudy (amistre64):

GCD, biggest factor that they have in common so the intersection of the factors .... is what they have in common

OpenStudy (amistre64):

15 = 3 5 18 = 2 3 3 ------------ LCM: 2 3 3 5 15 = 3 5 18 = 2 3 3 ------------ GCF: 3 since 3 is the only common factor

OpenStudy (hannaha):

Okay so had 34, 51, and 68 the GCF came out 17 Is that right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

34 = 2 17 51 = 3 17 68 = 2 2 17 ------------- the only thing and therefore the biggest factor by default is 17

OpenStudy (hannaha):

yessssss! ☺️
