Assume two habitats have the same number of species. One habitat is predominantly one species with just a few of the other species. The other habitat has equal numbers of all the different species. Which will have the highest diversity index?

7. There are many human-caused losses of biodiversity, such as habitat destruction and introduction of invasive species. Are there any natural events that could alter the diversity index?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it would be the habitat with equal number of all species.

thank you i thought so too! do you know the second one?

Weather is my guess. I would think that if a place were to undergo an extreme change in weather or climate only some of the organisms would be able to adapt, and that would probably affect the diversity.
