2(n - 3) + 5 = 3(n - 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But that depends on what you're trying to do with the equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you solving for n, or are you solving the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm trying to go for both right now

OpenStudy (triciaal):

first remove the parenthesis by multiplying everything inside by what is outside. next group like terms all variables together and constants together isolate the variable to one side of the equation the constant to the other. divide each side by the coefficient of the variable. whatever you do to one side of an equation also do to the other to keep the balance.
