what is a reciprocal ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the reciprocal of a whole number, just turn it into a fraction in which the original number is the denominator and the numerator is 1. For example, the reciprocal of 2/3 is 3/2 (or 1-1/2) , because 2/3 x 3/2 = 1.

3/5 would be 5/3 ? @bmthcx04

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you are given a variable "x", its reciprocal is "1/x". Likewise, if you are given something more complicated like "x/y" then the reciprocal is just "y/x". In other words turn it upside down.

Its a flip version of something for example reciprocal of 2 is 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5/6 or 6/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2=\frac{ 2 }{ 1 }\] when you flip it you get \[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a repic. is when you're taking the fraction and flipping it. so yes, you're right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, recip*
