Given f(x) = the quantity of 3x minus 1, divided by 2, solve for f^-1(4).

@ganeshie8 help please

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

f^-1 (x) is the inverse of f(x) f(x) = (3x-1)/2 now find x in terms of f(x) (let f(x) = y if you like) then replace the y by x and you have the required inverse finally replace x by 4 and calculate f^-1(4)

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

I'll start it off for you y = (3x - 1)/2 multiply through by 2: 2y = 3x - 1

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

now you need to find x in terms of y
