OpenStudy (alana242):

That's suppose to be an x not a v sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{x+5}{6}=-1\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so, multiply by 6 and start with \[x+5=-6\]

OpenStudy (alana242):

Would that be 30?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

umm. no

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

just subtract -5 on both sides...

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

x=-6-5 x=-11

OpenStudy (alana242):

But how would you get negative 5 if you're not moving it over

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

If you want you can plug it back in to make sure. \(\Huge\frac{-11+5}{6}=-1\) \(\Huge-1=-1\)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

x+5=-6 -5 -5 x=-11

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

@alana242 Do you get it?

OpenStudy (alana242):

I think so thanks

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

No problem. :)

OpenStudy (alana242):

Can you help with another one
