Help me please

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

idk this one @ydoievenexist

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they're both 85, with ones where they don't give the amount of two of them and they're equal, just subtract the amount that they tell you from 180 and then divide that number by 2.

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

ok i understand now

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

but why would i divide by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because they're equal so they'd just both be half of the remaining number.

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

so x =85?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep!

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

thank u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome!

The reason is that this is an isosceles triangle, and the two sides are congruent, therefor the two angles at the bottom are congruent. Since all the angles of a triangle equal 180, and they gave you the angle that isnt the same, than you can calculate the triangle. To double check your work you should have two angles that are the same and one angle that is different, but they all add up to 180 degrees, ALWAYS

^ just to clarify so you don't have troubles if this problem comes up again
