x-axis or y-axis help? will medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey so I think you mean that \[f(x) = x^{4}-3x\] and \[g(x) = -x^{4}+3x\] if so, do you notice something similar about the two functions? if you factor out a -1 from g(x) you get f(x)! \[g(x)=(-1)(x^{4} -3x)\] do you see how that works? as such to transform f(x) to g(x) all we need to do is multiply f(x)/y with -1! Thinking about that, if every y value in a function becomes its opposite (in terms of magnitude so like 5 to -5) what kind of transformation do you think is occurring?
