I need help with a question and when I say help I want explanation and how to find my answer Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If a corn plant has a genotype Sstt, what are the possible genetic combinations that could be present in a single grain of pollen produced by the plant? Ss, tt, St, st Ss, tt, St, ST St, st St, sT, st

OpenStudy (loser66):

since we don't have T in Sstt, then the second and last options are rejected.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my goodness I'm sorry I posted this question in the wrong subject sorry guys!

OpenStudy (loser66):

The combination of genetic must have one of s and one of t, right? we have 2 kinds of s, those are S, s, and just one kind of t . So?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not understanding sorry

OpenStudy (loser66):

Your mistake in posting question here shows that mathematics students know basic of biology. hehehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I guess lol

OpenStudy (loser66):

to me, the answer is St, st since if the first one is correct one, you have some Ss which has no genetic t there. And that is not the case when genetic pollen have to have 2 kind of gene s and t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok I kind of understand not too much though lol

Thank You!
