**MEDAL** How would I solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (wmj259):

What math are you in? Calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k, what does H represent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not in math at all. I'm simply just wanting to reeducate myself. I haven't done math in several months.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h represents the height of the ball in feet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when I throw the ball up and it hits the ground again, what will the value of H be?

OpenStudy (wmj259):

So you are looking at what values of t(time) make h=0. So if you notice ax^2+bx+c

OpenStudy (wmj259):

You have experience with the quadratic equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Quadratic equations? More or less. I barely remember, unfortunately.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

all you need to do is set the equation to zero and solve for t remember h = height so if h = 0 the ball is on the ground so its \[0 = -16t(t - 4)\] hope it helps you will have 2 values for t t = 0 is the initial height. so for the other t value
