five diffrent forces act on an object . is it possible for the net force on the object to be zero ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is possible to get a net force of zero. Take a look at this vie from above a box: |dw:1414976751853:dw|

The forces along the y axis cancel each other out, and the forces A and B have a resultant in a diagonal direction and it happens to be opposite to the direction of the force D, so those cancel each other as well. You also have the Normal Force pointing toward your screen but that is being cancelled by the weight of the box.
