what is the difference between a triplet and condon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have always used the word "triplet" to refer to a sequence of 3 nucleotides on DNA that transcribe to a codon, and "codon" to refer to a group of 3 nucleotides on mRNA that code for a specific amino acid. Someitmes, a DNA triplet is called a DNA codon.
