How do i pass AP bio?
I'm in College level BIOL101 or Introductory Biology. If you got into AP, I'm sure you can do it, that is, still pass the class with a B or even higher... Well, I think, honestly, it's not the teacher. If you study the notes properly and digest them, and read the textbook and maybe try some of the problems at the end of the chapter, you should be comprehending the material. When you get older in college or etc.. You will have not-so-great teachers, and some kids will still get A's. This is because, the teacher's job is to present the material, not all of them go out of their way for you to learn, you have to learn that this now depends on you. Whether you have to put in extra hours because your teacher is lackluster, or you can to skip hours because your teacher explains things beautifully, this will be a decision you will have to make. I noticed all the time's I had C's in my classes, I complained about it being the teacher, my brother, an electrical engineering major would always tell me, it's not the teacher it was me, and that he bet there was kids getting A's in the class. Sure enough, while I was getting C's, some students were getting A's. The simple fact is, if you are studying, looking over notes, whatever, and still getting D's or F's, your method is not working. You said some kids are getting A's and B's so they are studying more efficiently than you. For my biology class, I find a lot of it is memorization. I'm a chemistry major, and find biology a bit easier than chemistry. But, this may not be the answer you want to hear, but clean up your studying habits, study more intense in shorter spurts. And try not to just memorize the word, like polar covalent or evolution or an chemical equilibrium. Try to really understand the concept, and apply it to different situations, so when your teacher makes an exam and writes the questions differently, you will be able to apply the concept of the idea to any problem. Also, I recommend, "How to Become a Straight A Student, by Cal Newport". I purchased this book; it's amazing, written by a guy who achieved all A's and only one A- after his freshman year applying study methods from Straight A students from Ivy League Universities. He did multiple studies. But, I'm sure you can do it, a lot of it is memorization and regurgitating material from a book, with no actual verification of the material (The education system's downfall) but anyway, don't be intimidated.
