I need help.

OpenStudy (aakashsudhakar):

Think of it like a fencing for the cell. The cell encompasses many individual components within a cytoplasm (gel-like substance), many of which are free-floating. The plasma membrane has no direct relation in productive cell processes, like food production, and while the membrane separates during cell reproduction, the membrane itself has no direct involvement in allowing the cell to reproduce and replicate. The membrane also does little to constrict the cell's size; that job is left to the structural components within the cell, such as the cytoskeletal microfilaments. This leaves one logical option left. You can think of it like an actual jail cell, with the organelles as multiple jail inmates living together. Is the fencing going to feed the inmates, split the inmates into multiple more sections, keep the section smaller and pull it in, or is it simply going to keep all the inmates in one area at once?

Can I get a straight answer, dude?

OpenStudy (aakashsudhakar):

Technically, my response eliminates three of the options you have, but if you really need a straight answer, it most likely would be [D. encloses specific structures]. Walk through it logically to see why.
