help finding x-intercepts!

OpenStudy (ineedhelp10):

If im given 12x^2+9x+15=0

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\large\color{black}{ 12x^2+9x+15=0 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ 3(x^2+3x+5)=0 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ x^2+3x+5=0 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ x^2+3x=-5 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ x^2+3x+1.5^2=-5+1.5^2 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ x^2+3x+2.25=-5+2.25 }\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So only imaginary values can be x-intercepts.

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

in order to find x intercept ,u just put y =0 in the above given equation and isolate the x and get the x intercept now do that first and show me your work

OpenStudy (ineedhelp10):

@SolomonZelman i think you messed up in the first line

OpenStudy (ineedhelp10):

ins;t it supposed to be 3(4x^2+3x+5)

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

as u have seen on the equation that the value of y has already not given so just isolate the x for isolation of x use either the quadratic formula or factorizing method

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I did mess up, apologize

OpenStudy (ineedhelp10):

ok so using the quadratic equation i've gotten so far until \[-9+\sqrt{-639}/24\]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

but 4x^2 will make the b lower, and thus it will certainly have only imaginaries.

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

12x^2+9x+15=0 take common ''3'' from the above equation 3( 4x^2 +3x+5 ) =0 now use the cross multiplication then u would get this 4x^2 +3x+5 =0 now use here quadratic formula and get the x ... i hope u got it very well
