Find (f −1)'(a). f(x) = 4x^3 + 4x^2 + 3x + 8, a = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By the way (f-1) is the inverse function not actually f-1

Ok so I set it up by switching the x's and y's. x=4y^3+4y^2+3y+8. Then I took the derivative and tried solving for y but clearly this is wrong because i get a negative number under the square root

Hey

myininaya (myininaya):

No no you don't need to actually find the inverse function.

myininaya (myininaya):

didn't notice this was closed sorry

I figured it out. All good
