Zeros and multiplicity of f(x)= 3(x+8)^2(x-8)^3. Need to check, thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiplicity only means the exponent of the factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+8)^2 x=-8, mult: 2 ------------ (x-8)^3 x= 8 , mult:3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so since you have \((x+8)^2\) that means \(-8\) is a zero with multiplicity \(2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

oh wow was just posting at the same time. what about the 3?
