What happens to excess carbon created by burning fossil fuels? A. Bacteria in the soil fix the carbon. It is absorbed by plants which convert it into energy molecules. B. Plants and the oceans are able to absorb some of the excess carbon. The rest goes back into the atmosphere causing the greenhouse effect. C. Plants are able to absorb all of it. They then convert it into oxygen and energy molecules through photosynthesis. D. The oceans absorb all of the excess carbon and it sinks down into the sediments.
