how did some colonies respond to the navigation acts
Navigation Acts were a series of laws that restricted the use of foreign ships for trade between Britain and its colonies. They began in 1651 and ended 200 years later. The colonist didn't like this because they were running low on there basic needs.
Colonists reacted with anger. They were not happy that they had to pay more for things, buy only british boat, white crue, and follow other changing details. For example, if you want to go to Walmart to buy a laptop and its $100 dollars cheaper then k-mart, you're going to want to buy it from walmart. But, how would you feel if someone made you buy the SAME, if not worse, k-mart laptop? Very upset, correct? That is how the colonist felt. Everything they had they could only be aquired by either home made, grown, or bought from the pricey british. Such act resulted in boycott (not buying british material, producing it themselves.), and smuggling (sneaking around and secretly buying products from other countries) . The colonists were very angry, and had felt taken advantage of, which they were. The british were selfish by doing so. The act caused people to go into poverty.
Hope that helps!!<3
