Identify the vertex for the graph of y = -3x2 + 6x - 4. (1, 5) (1, -1) (-1, -13) (-1, -9) Fan and Medal... someone please help!!
??
You can complete the square to write the given equation in vertex form to find the vertex. Another way is to find the value of -b/2a, which is the x-coordinate of the vertex. Then substitute the value of -b/2a in for x and find y, and this will be the y-coordinate of the vertex. You can also find the average of the zero's (the x-intercepts) of the function, and then substitute this average in for x to find y, to find the vertex. Similarly you can find the vertex by partial factoring. You can also use calculus to find the vertex but I have a feeling you're too young to have learned calculus so then stick with one of the other methods. Good Luck!

Welcome! I hope that means you know how to use one or more of those methods and hence solve the problem on your own.
