Can someone help me? I'll medal and fan!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

what do u think it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Scale factor isn't in my notes in this note book, so I don't really know what it is

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

ok well let me also get another person to help you @midhun.madhu1987 can you help

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

its c then d then a then b

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

did you get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, thank you!

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

no problem anything else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, yes, do you have some time to help me with another question? I just am worried because there is a time limit, I kind of am familiar with this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The volume of a cone is three hundred cubic kilometers. If the radius of the base is 5 kilometers, what is the height of the cone? Use three point one four for pi. Show your work and round to the nearest tenth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the formula

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

what do u think it is and why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

v=1/3*3.14*r^2*h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it would look like this: 1/3*3.14*25*h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know so far it is around 26 rounded

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would I just subtract that from 300 and that's my answer?

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

ok what is a whole number that can become your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

274?

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got it from subtracting 26 and 300

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

there is a number that you divide both sides on what is that number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Waaait, not that's not right

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

its 254.34

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the height?

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

ok just round 3.53857042 to the nearest tenth

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

im talking about working the equation out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry, I'm confused, why do we do that?

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

just round it and that is your answer I skipped a lot because it takes awhile to explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to explain it though, can you give me a very short run down?

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

300=1/3(3.14)(9)exponent of 2h and it said pi. is 3.14 so we subsituted

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

first we multiply both sides by 3 to get rid of 1/3 ok

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

so what is that now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uum would it be 1 for 1/3 and 6 for 2?

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):

we just cancelled out 1/3 so there's nothing for that and don't worry about six

OpenStudy (mvpriest6):
