5+x-2/8 = x+3/8

@campbell_st

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so can I check, is x - 2 a numerator...? \[5 + \frac{x -2}{8} = \frac{x + 3}{8}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so you need to multiply every term by 8... that will eliminate the denominators \[40 + x -2 = x + 3\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

but here is the catch... the equation has no solution... x + 38 = x + 3

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

subtract x from both sides of the equation leaves 38 = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

can you use the draw option to write the equation...

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

or take a screen clipping and attach or insert it
