a car, starting at a position of 0 m and zero speed, moves right with constant acceleration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would the equation for this? and can you explain

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[x(t)=x_0+{v_x}_0t+\tfrac12a_xt^2\] The initial position is the origin, ie \(x_0=0\) The initial velocity is zero too, \({v_x}_0=0\)

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the acceleration in the x-direction is some constant \(a_x=a\) so \[x(t)=\tfrac12at^2\]
