**************MEDLAS AND FANS************
See, Point F is given as : (4, ....), it means x-coordinate is given to you here.
\(x=4\) is given and you have equation as : \(y = -0.25x\), So just plug in \(x=4\) in that equation and find \(y\).
ummm... 4 -8
yes
\[y = -0.25 \color{green}{x} \\y = -0.25(\color{green}{4}) \\ y = ??\]
-1? do I need to muply it my 4
@waterineyes
yep, good..
\(-0.25x\) means \(x\) is in multiplication with \(-0.25\) like this: \(-0.25 \times x\)
so What is point F and point G?
Similarly for point G, again you have given \(x\) there ie \(x=-8\)..
We have just found F point only ie (4,-1) 4 is given to you already, -1 you have found now.
So g is -8?
Now, we need to find G point, G(-8,.....), first digit gives you x-coordinate so \(x=-8\), again find \(y\) as you did earlier. :)
so. ummm. WHATS IS f PONIT (sorry about caps)
A point is represented by : \((x, y)\)
Like: \(F(x, y)\), here first one is already given to you: \(F(4, y)\), have you found \(y\) when \(x=4\) ??
so is F =-8 or no What part has and answer is -8 for G
When \(x =4\), you found \(y=-1\) right?
oh okay Because I was like what is y so y=-1 because I thought g was -1 thanks okay whats G
Yes, that is only for F point we have done yet, \(F(4,-1)\), it implies when \(x=4\), \(y\) is \(-1\).
As you have found F point, the same you will do for G point.. For G point, \(x=-8\) right?
If so, then find \(y\) when \(x=-8\). The same way, nothing special in it.
ummmm................ so is -8 =-1
@waterineyes
\(y = -0.25(x)\) \(y = -0.25(-8)\) \(y = ??\)
Don't you think we did the same for F when \(x\) was \(4\) ??
And remember, when we multiply \(-\) with \(-\), we get \(+\)..
lol sorry 2
yeah the same way we will do for G, good.. :) So, point G is \((-8, 2)\), it means that when \(x = -8\), we get \(y=2\)..
So, \(F(4, -1)\) \(G(-8, 2)\)
Getting?
so I got this so far|dw:1415635201507:dw|
