Medal anyone? Find a polynomial with a degree of 3, and the zeros 1,7, & -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How exactly would I go about solving this?

I thought I would post my findings in case it helps anyone else in the future: To find a polynomial with a degree and given zeroes... 1.) Plug each given zero into this equation (x-a) where a is the zero. 1, 7, -4... (x-1) (x-7) (x+4) 2.) Multiply all of them together... \[x^3-4x^2-25x-28\] 3.) Make sure the degree of your new polynomial is correct. The needed degree for this polynomial is 3, and the degree we have is 3. This polynomial meets all standards.
