for each kilogram of a person's weight 2.5 milligrams of a drug is to be given. What dosage should be given to a child who weighs 62 pounds. use the fact that 1lb = 0.45kg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since 11 lb = 0.45 kg, divide 62 lb by 11 first. 62 / 11 = roughly 5.64 Multiply 5.64 by 0.45 kg. 5.64 x 0.45 = 2.538 kg. Multiply the weight of the person in kg (which is 2.538) by 2.5 milligrams to find out amount of milligrams needed to be given to the person. 2.538 kg x 2.5 = 6.345 milligrams of drugs.
